Michael Shawel Lemma, MD
Dr. Michael is a Chief Clinical Oncologist at Hope Oncology & Surgical Center and an Assistant Professor at Haramaya University and Jijiga University, Ethiopia.
His clinical practice focuses on evidence-based oncology and improving access to quality cancer care. He contributed to strengthen the Ethiopian cancer care system through collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and his
work has been recognized internationally.
In 2023 Dr. Michael followed an observership at Erasmus University Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncology, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, funded by the Luca Incrocci Foundation.
Tara Rick, PhD, MPAS, PA-C
Tara began her research career in global oncology, studying barriers to cancer care and radiotherapy access in Tanzania and Ethiopia.
Her PhD at Erasmus Medical Center benchmarked the Ethiopian healthcare system, where 100 million people once depended on a single cobalt machine.
With nearly 20 years of clinical experience in hematology and oncology, she brings her global perspective to the University of Minnesota, where her practice and research focus is on cancer survivorship and sexual and menopausal health in cancer survivors.
Mr. Aad Bouhuisen
Aad established at a young age a very successful carpentry business grown to a huge company that has developed and built thousands of houses and buildings. After his retirement, he is still very active in business and engaged in the company.
He is father of three children and a cancer survivor. He has been a regular donor to support cancer research at Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Aad is also supporting the Luca Incrocci Foundation, both financially and as advisor.
